When Does My Ovulation Occur?

It can often be hard to conceive a child.  There is a lot that you need to know.  Some people can just have sex and become pregnant without even trying.  Other people plan for it and try to get pregnant for years without any results.

This can be really upsetting since having a child is so important to so many people.  You work at it for so long and you come out with no child and a lot of money lost.  Instead, you may not know about a popular and accurate technique to improving your chance of having a child.  It is calling an ovulation calendar.  First you need to learn what ovulation is.

The ovulation cycle is similar to the menstrual cycle.  They both start and end at the same time.  They start on the first day of your last period, and end on the day before your next one.  These cycles usually last 28 days, but this is different for everyone.  Beyond that, the ovulation cycle is split up into two phases.  The first phase starts at the beginning and ends on the first day of your ovulation.  This phase can last a very short time or a very long time.  this can vary greatly from person to person.  There are also outside factors that can affect the length of this phase.  For example, if you are having a lot of stress in your life, this phase will be very long.  Essentially, it is all about your ovulation.  This can get postponed if you are stressed or you are being very physically active.

The next phase of the ovulation cycle starts at the beginning of your ovulation period and ends on the day before your next menstrual period.  While the first phase can vary in length, the last phase does not.  It will always be from twelve to sixteen days in length.  This is a very steady and reliable part of your ovulation cycle.  In fact, it is one of the only reliable aspects of ovulation in general.

There are certain ovulation signs that can help you determine if you are ovulating.  These are usually very similar to the side effects that you get from your menstrual period.  For example, you could have painful abdominal cramps during your ovulation.  This can hurt quite a bit, or it could just be an annoying twinge.  Either way, this is one of the main ovulation signs.  Another one of the signs is bloating.  If you notice that you are feeling puffy, especially around your ankles, this is a sign that you may be ovulating.

Once you find out when your ovulation occurs, you can plan around the event.  Since this is when you are the most fertile, you should try to have sex once a day during this time.  This will greatly raise the chances of you becoming pregnant.  If you still have trouble, you can contact an obstetrician or gynecologist for more help.  They may suggest that you start an ovulation calendar.  This is helpful because you get a more detailed look at your ovulation cycle.  You can start this by taking your temperature every day and writing this figure down in the calendar.  You will know that you are ovulating when your temperature is about one degree warmer for several days in a row.

It is very beneficial to know when your ovulation occurs.  Not only will it help you plan for a pregnancy, but it will also help you know when your next menstrual period will start.  Just add 12 to 16 days to that day and that is the general estimation of when your next period will be.
