Various Methods for Pregnancy Prevention

There are generally two types of women.  One wants to have a baby and the other does not; at least at the moment anyway.  You may feel as though you want to have a baby someday but would rather wait than have it now.

This is perfectly acceptable, although you need to take certain precautions in order to prevent it.  Pregnancy prevention is very serious business.  There are a lot of myths out there that are simply not true.  If you want to prevent a pregnancy from occurring, there are certain things that you must know, or you may end up making a mistake.

If you plan on staying sexually active, there are many methods to prevent yourself from getting pregnant.  The most common method is to use a condom.  Condoms are good because they are readily available in most drug stores.  Since they are so easy to find, there is no reason not to use one.  There are some things that you need to know, though.  Condoms are almost completely reliable if they are used correctly, if not, they can be very unpredictable.  For example, you need to make sure that the condom fits correctly and is on completely.  If it falls off during sex, there is a chance that you could get pregnant.  Your chances of pregnancy will be much higher.  This is also the case if the condom breaks.

There are some rumors about condom usage.  For example, some people think that if the man pulls out before he ejaculates, you cannot get pregnant.  This is not true at all.  If you plan to have any contact, the condom should be on.  This should be the first thing you do before anything else.  Then your chances for pregnancy will be very slim.

Condoms are not the only method of birth control.  For example, there are methods that then you would be in charge of, rather than the man.  One of the most popular methods is the birth control pill.  Take this every day in order to prevent pregnancy.  There are other methods as well.  Depo Provera has become very popular in recent years.  This is a birth control injection that is received four times each year.  That means that you do not need to think about taking a pill every day.  The main side effect to this is that you will likely not get your period while using this birth control, which is a good thing to many women.  Luckily, this is one of the more accurate ways to prevent pregnancy, as there is virtually no room for human error.

Although you can use condoms and take birth control, these are still not one hundred percent effective.  There is still a slim chance that you may conceive a child.  If you want absolutely no chance, the only option is abstinence.  This is when you refrain from any and all sexual activity.  While it may not be as fun, it is the only way that you can have total pregnancy prevention.  Many people vow to save themselves for marriage for this very reason.  If you feel like you can do this, and want to do this, then this is a very good method to avoid pregnancy.  Just in case, you may want to keep some condoms on hand.

There are times in your life when you are not ready to have a child.  You may still be in school or you want to wait until you are married before you bring a new life into the world.  Whatever your reasons are, there are a bunch of great methods for preventing pregnancy.
