Am I Pregnant?

Am I Pregnant?

There are women that want to get pregnant and there are women that do not.  The ones that do are really eager to go.  They cannot wait until they finally have that newborn baby nestled in their arms.  This is very important to them and they work hard to get pregnant.

They are excited at any prospect of getting pregnant and will read many books and websites on the subject.  The women, who do not want to have children, at least for now, will likely do anything to avoid it.  They will use their good judgment to know what birth control to use and when to use it.  If they want to have fun with their partner, they will know the methods to use in order to avoid getting pregnant.  Still, not all methods are one hundred percent safe, and they may end up pregnant anyway.  Or at least, they may fear that they might get or be pregnant.

There may come a time when you are unsure whether or not you are pregnant.  This applies to both women who want to get pregnant and women who do not.  You may have missed a period or you just have a feeling that the time has come.  If so, there are ways that you can tell if you are pregnant.  These are good to know because the sooner you know that you are pregnant, the easier it will be to handle the entire pregnancy.  It will also get a load off your mind.  Often just wondering if you could be pregnant is the most stressful part.  Finally, finding out the answer, whether positive or negative, could be a huge relief.

The main reason why women think that they might be pregnant is because they have missed their period.  They may be a few days or even a few weeks late.  We all hear about how someone will miss their period and this will be evidence that they are pregnant.  Hold the phone!  This is not empirical proof of pregnancy.  It is only more of a hint that it might be the case.  If so, your chances of pregnancy are higher, but that does not mean that you are pregnant.  There are many reasons why you may miss your period.  Stress is the biggest example.  If things are not going right in your life, this stress can cause you to miss a period.

Since a missed period only raises the chances of pregnancy, you will need a more accurate way to tell.  Drug stores sell pregnancy tests that are perfect for this job.  They test your urine and will tell you whether or not you are pregnant.  They are usually very accurate, although not one hundred percent.  If you do not trust the results, you can always take more than one pregnancy test.  Be sure to follow the directions precisely to make sure that there is no user error.

The most accurate way to tell if you are pregnant is to visit a gynecologist or obstetrician.  They can tell pretty easily whether or not you are pregnant.  They will also make absolutely sure this is the case before you leave their office.  They want you to know just as much as you do.

Once you know if you are pregnant, you can plan from there.  If you aren’t this can be devastating news for the woman who wants to have a child.  Still, there is always next time.  Just because you are not pregnant now does not mean you never will be.  Being pregnant may also be bad news for the woman who would prefer not to have a child.
